UCSI University began as the Canada Institute of Computer Studies, a computer-based training centre located in SS2, Petaling Jaya that was subsequently named Sedaya College when it was accorded College status in 1989. In 2001, it evolved into Sedaya International College to reflect its increasing international focus. Accorded University College status in 2003, it soon became UCSI University when it received University status in 2008.
UCSI University is a private university in Malaysia with primary campuses located at Cheras, Kuala Lumpur; Marang, Terengganu and Kuching, Sarawak. The campuses combined host a student population of 8,000. It has a daughter campus, Perdana College of Malaysia, in Dhaka, Bangladesh. UCSI has an international focus, collaborating with universities in Australia, New Zealand, United Kingdom, United States and Canada. 38% of its student population is international.
